L.A. BACK IN THE DAY....
Page 3 - METAL
The Metallica flyer is circa 1982/1983.

This was way back when Lars looked more like a girl, they drank like fish and opened for bands like the christian rock band Stryper and my friend's band LA KAOS/HIRAX.
Those were the days...now look at them...all big and shit...like Metal gods or something.  Let there be something said for sounding different than anyone else at the time.  We all thought they would flop, but they were on to something.

Yes, the Bruin Den is the same one on 7th street near PCH (part of the park) and Woodrow Wilson high school in Long Beach.

The ticket stubs were from seeing them at the Country Club in Reseda with a group called Raven in 1983.

They rock!!!
Okay, again, another crappy crop job on the Nov 83 BAM cover featuring the dear boys from Motley Crue....

No, not the investment Motley Fool people....the Metal dudes!!!

Some old ads from the early 80s and a picture from like 1981 or something.

Tommy Lee is definately a drummer I tried to copy when I started playing.,..he can twirl the sticks and keep you hypnotized.

They are one of several bands that came together through ads placed in the Recycler.

I am glad Nikki Sixx talked them into a reunion FINALLY!!!!!!  Good Job!!!
I  saw Tommy Lee  a  few years back at HOB on his solo tour...besides putting the camera down his pants a few times for a live web feed, he was actually pretty good on guitar...

Reminds me, I need to find a copy of their original 1st album with the Black and White lettering....and the song that did not make the major release copy of the album...hmmmmm
